"It has been a great privilege to work with you all. The CWS team whilst advocating, proactively reaching, and caring for those in the world worse off than most, set an example to be followed. A core motivation of mine is to help those in need and I hope that my efforts will help to have a sustainable effect to reduce suffering in this part of Nepal.
So it is with a sad heart I leave CWS to return back to Bristol in the UK"

On 14th October, the founder of Child Welfare Scheme received an Unsung Heroes Award at a ceremony at Claridge’s in London, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the welfare and health of children in Nepal.

.......... June 2007 . . . ................Biking for a better tomorrow

Chris Hooley - a man who loves adventures and adrenalin pumping challenges. So he decided to jump on his bike and raise money for Child Welfare Scheme which provide hope for those less fortunate. He travelled 360kms over the hills of the South of England in 4 days. Most of this is single track. And now he is back......

.......... June 2007 . . . ................ .......Gobi March June 2007

Our Desert Troopers take on the Gobi Desert from 17th June to 23rd June 2007 to raise funds for Child Welfare Scheme (CWS). The Gobi March challenge them to their limits as they had to cover 250 Kms in 7 days where the temperature soar up to 40 degrees Celsius in the day and drop to below zero after sunset.

.......... June 2007 . ......... ..... Bhachowk Health Camp 2007


On Saturday the 16th of June, Asha Health Care conducted a day long free health camp at Bhachowk village in Kaski district Nepal.
The team travelled up to Bhachok the previous day, and started the camp at 8am in the morning, at the government school building, finishing late afternoon.
The camp proved to be immensely popular with the villagers, many of whom had never seen a doctor before in their lives!

Funkraiser 2007 was another scorching success with 288 party animals dancing the night away in aid of CWS, last Friday May 4th in Hong Kong. Because the 7th Annual FUNKRAISER didn't just raise the roof on May 4th, it blew it straight into space and The Cavern is still hunting around for it. If you weren't there, you missed the party of the year!!

One of CWSN’s aim is to make all Day Care Health Centers in the rural area of Kaski and Lamjung district self-sufficient in the long run. On the 5th of May 2007 our 11th Day Care Health Center in Gorje village is handed over to the local School Management Committee.

.......... April 2007 . . . ................ ..........BBC Radio 4 Charity Appeal

TheThe BBC Radio 4 Appeal made by Jeremy Irons on behalf of Child Welfare Scheme on 1st April and 5th April 2007 has raised £ 20,208 till date. According to the BBC, this is one of the highest results achieved by ‘The Charity Appeal’ programme on Radio 4.

This is a great achievement and Child Welfare Scheme would like to thank Jeremy Irons and all the people involved in achieving this success.

..........November 2006 . . . ................Challenge Annapurna Trek

In November 2006, Child Welfare Scheme organised a charity challenge trek and marathon to the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) with the main purpose to raise funds to improve the quality of life for thousands of the poorest children in Nepal and to help disadvantaged young people to help themselves.

November 2006 . . . . ..............Opening of two new DCHC

In the continuous process of reducing child mortality under fives, providing day care, early childhood development, and delivering health services to young children up to 5 years old in remote mountain villages, two new Day Care Health Centres were opened in Pakhurikot and Nagedhar, mid Western Nepal adding to a total of 13 DCHC.
