The past year (2006)

Last year we stopped running Beauty Care course an introduced a new training course - Care Giver. The reason for replacing Beauty Care with Care Giver is that there are already many Beauticians in the market and JYOTI alone produced 29 beauticians during the three years. The Caregiver course was introduced according to the recommendation made by the market survey conducted by CWS in the previous year. The study showed that there will be a high demand of Caregivers in future and the chances of getting employment for the trained Caregiver are high. Therefore, as suggested by the survey we started the course and we were also looking for a course that would be suitable especially for the girls.

JYOTI VTC purchased a recreational land for the purpose of doing sports and other extra activities for the trainees who are undergoing vocational training here.

To help the graduated trainees find jobs, to monitor their progress in their jobs and to provide them other necessary support, a Job Coordinator was hired last year.

Similarly, other important activities and events accomplished during the past year are:

• Intake - 42 trainees enrolled
• Income generation scheme - Beauty Parlor & Mobile Technical Services.
